For over twenty years, the Salzburg Fortress Advent has been a popular fixture in the pre-Christmas season: as in previous years, more than a hundred traditional Herrnhut stars bathe the Festungsgasse and the Burghof of Hohensalzburg Fortress in a sea of lights. The Advent market in the Burghof is not only the highest in the city, but also one of the most atmospheric with a fine selection of Salzburg delicacies, local handicrafts and gift ideas.

On all opening days:
14:00 - 17:00 Supervised children's program in the "Atelier-Hödlmoser" with cookie baking, Christmas crafts as well as reading and playing corner with Christmas music.
15:30 - 18:30 Atmospheric tunes and Christmas sounds of the tower brass in the castle courtyard

There is no entrance fee to visit the Advent Market. Please mention the keyword "Advent Market" at the cash desks.
