For almost 100 years (1926-today) Salzburg Airport has served the region’s citizens and their visitors. In 1926, the Salzburg Municipal Airfield was opened nearly at the same site where the airport stands today. Germany’s Lufthansa was the first airline to use the airport, linking Salzburg with Munich via Reichenhall.
